What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a technique based on traditional Chinese medicine that corrects imbalances in the body. TCM considers the body as a whole. When we identify points of imbalance in the body during an acupuncture session, we apply needles to specific points to restore balance and the free flow of energy. This technique can be used as a single therapy or in combination with traditional veterinary medicine or animal physiotherapy.

Indications for acupuncture

  • Control of acute and chronic pain
  • Normalisation of musculoskeletal and neurological disorders
  • Improving our patients' quality of life
  • Osteoarthritis, disc disease, spondylosis, torn ligaments
  • Reduce the side effects of chemotherapy
  • Chronic illnesses (renal failure, atopy, asthma)
  • Stimulation of the immune system (FELV, hypothyroidism)
  • Controlling nausea, diarrhoea and intestinal motility

Please note

In some cases, an examination by a veterinarian may be necessary before starting physiotherapy treatment, in order to rule out diseases that cannot be treated by physiotherapy.
